This week, the spotlight is on a young teen in |
An Arizona couple took advantage of the pleasant weather that Wednesday evening, September 28, and went for a hike in an area near White Hills, along Highway 93 between Kingman and the Hoover Dam. The area offers a variety of hiking trails that appeal to hikers of every skill level. The Cherum Peak Trail, Mount Tipton Wilderness Trails, Camp Beale Loop, and Monolith Garden Trail attract people of all kinds. Unfortunately, this Jane would not get to enjoy the picturesque views or beautiful weather. Instead, her young life would end and the wilderness would be her temporary resting place. |
At some point on their hike, the couple would make a discovery that would be forever etched in their minds. There, in a ravine, they saw the mummified remains of a young teenage girl. It was later determined that she had likely been out there, exposed to the elements, for 1-2 weeks, which resulted in the mummified state of her remains. Her cause of death is still unknown almost 3 years later, but it's believed that foul play was involved and her death has been investigated as a homicide. She is thought to have been killed in a different location and her remains dumped near White Hills.

Map to show general area | Despite the efforts of law enforcement agencies, this Jane is closing in on her 3 year discovery anniversary (Can we call it a discoversary?). With such a well-done composite, complete description, and specific details, I'm surprised that it's been this long. But I believe in the power of the search, and I have hope that the efforts of authorities and sleuths alike can reunite this Jane with her identity, her family, her story. She is someone's baby and she deserves a proper resting place where the people who knew and loved her in life can have some sort of closure. |

True crime, cold case, long-term missing/unidentified, and all things mystery. I've always been interested, but now I'm involved in the search.
