Big things are happening over here, in spite of the current status of some cases. It feels as if we're taking two steps forward, then one step back, but that won't slow me down!I'm a fan of the "compliment sandwich" when I want to be tactful yet concise in communications, especially when it may not be a welcome discussion. The same goes for times like these. Good news, bad news, great news is just an extension of the concept. I like ending on a high note, ya know? Drumroll please...The Good News - Podcasting for DummiesThe Names for Janes Podcast is in development and the first episode should be out in a couple weeks! I am beyond excited to feature the Televangelist's Daughter to kick off the podcast. My goal is to have a new episode out every 2 weeks, so pencil me in on your podcast schedule so you can meet the Janes and hear their stories. The Bad News - The Results are inWe've been impatiently waiting and holding our breath for an update on the DNA sample from the Televangelist's Daughter that was being evaluated and tested for potential comparisons with genetic genealogy databases like GEDmatch. The information I received was not encouraging, but we'll go into more detail in the podcast's first episode The Great News - Forward ProgressDespite a DNA sample bump in the road, the search continues. I learned recently that an investigator with the Columbia PD is going to look back at reports from January and February 1982 to determine if there are any that relate to the Televangelist's Daughter in any way. I'm hopeful that he will be able to uncover more information that I don't have access to as I continue to dig through the mounds of information that I do have. Between the coroner's office, Columbia PD and myself, I have no doubt that there will be forward movement, even if only baby steps, in the near future.
I've also been in contact with a journalist from The State, a South Carolina newspaper based in Columbia, that is interested in working with me to write a story about the Televangelist's Daughter, whether one large story or a series. I'm eager to see how it turns out! That should be in the works for some time early next year. |
EmilyTrue crime, cold case, long-term missing/unidentified, and all things mystery. I've always been interested, but now I'm involved in the search. Archives
